susan masie
Susan is an Occupational Therapist and Executive Director/Owner of Pediatric Therapies. She graduated from Quinnipiac College (now Quinnipiac University) in Hamden, Connecticut in 1983. While having early experience in adult acute care, rehab, and home health, Susan has specialized in pediatrics for more than 25 years. She began her pediatric career in schools and home care, eventually moving to private practice. She opened Pediatric Therapies in August of 2005. Susan has earned her Certificate of Completion for administering and interpreting the SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) and has also earned specialty certification as a provider for The Listening Program and Therapeutic Listening. Susan has particular training and expertise in the fields of sensory processing and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Other areas of clinical experience include working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic disorders, learning disabilities, sensory feeding issues, and emotional and behavior problems. Susan is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but moved to Brentwood from Connecticut with her husband Steve over 20 years ago. She has 3 children; Ally (24), Steve (22), and Nick (18). Her daughter, in fact, is training her yellow lab, Brady, to be a therapy dog some day. Susan and her family are huge Predator hockey fans. Go Preds!
mary underwood
Mary has been with Pediatric Therapies since it opened in August of 2005. She has been an OT for 25 years, specializing in pediatrics. Mary graduated from Samford University with a degree in Psychology and from the University of AL at Birmingham with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Her experience includes 5 years in Knoxville at East TN Children′s Hospital and Rehab, then 9 years with Vanderbilt Children′s Hospital and Rehab. She has earned speciality certifications and training in Sensory Integration, NDT (Neurodevelopmental Treatment), The Listening Program, Therapeutic Listening and Infant Massage. From 2000-2005 Mary operated her own pediatric clinic, KidAbilities Therapy in Brentwood. Her interests include traveling, gardening, papercrafting and taking care of her two very furry cats, Bella and Stella.
danielle carder
Danielle Carder graduated from St. Louis University′s occupational therapy program in 1998. She now has 10 years of experience working in pediatric clinics and schools. Danielle began her career in Missouri, but in 2002 moved home to Nashville where she and her husband are raising their 2 girls. Danielle began working at Pediatric Therapies in January 2008. She is excited to be using her experience working with children with sensory integration disorders (including sensory-based feeding issues), autism, attention deficit disorders, cerebral palsy, and down syndrome, as well as numerous other deveopmental delays. She enjoys working closely with children and developing relationships with them and their families. Danielle is a certified yoga for the special child instructor and is passionate about using yoga as a tool to help children reach their goals.
tamara garvey
Tamara migrated from Toronto, Canada back in 1993 to attend Lipscomb University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology in 1997 and married her college sweetheart that same year. She graduated from Belmont University′s Master′s of Occupational Therapy program in 2001. Tamara′s work history includes 2 years at Vanderbilt′s Bill Wilkerson Center where she solidified her passion for working with children with autism spectrum disorders and developmental delays. She then relocated to Canada where she worked in private schools and a private pediatric clinic. Tamara joined the team at Pediatric Therapies in February of 2006. Tamara has completed training in sensory integration theory and intervention, Therapeutic Listening, sensory-based feeding, the Wilbarger Protocol, and behavior management. Tamara currently resides in Spring Hill with her husband and two sons.
lindsey bible
Lindsey Bible, OTD, OTR/L is an occupational therapist who has been with Pediatric Therapies since June of 2009. Lindsey first became acquainted with Pediatric Therapies as a graduate student when she completed her 3-month clinical training in pediatrics. After a spectacular learning experience (her words!), Lindsey knew that working with the team at Pediatric Therapies was her dream job. One year later, after graduating with her clinical doctorate in occupational therapy, Lindsey joined the staff. Prior to earning her OT degree Lindsey attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia where she majored in psychology and special education, and was an active volunteer at the Virginia Institute of Autism. She moved to Nashville to attend graduate school at Belmont University and received her clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2009. As a student, Lindsey completed research in the area of sensory integration, specifically examining the effect of using therapy balls as alternative seating devices in classrooms of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. As a practitioner, Lindsey is quickly gaining experience working with children who have sensory processing disorder, developmental delay, autism, sensory-based feeding disorder, fine motor delays, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Lindsey enjoys serving children and their families and loves the excitement and infectious happiness that radiates from the kids she works with! Recently married to her best friend, Linsey and her husband Jesse live in Nashville with their 6-year-old golden retriever, Charlie.
kerry suit
Kerry grew up in northwest Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University where she completed her core classes, was a member of the equestrian team and participated in intramural sports. Kerry received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2006 at Brenau University and was a member of Pi Theta Epsilon Honors Society and the soccer team. After graduation Kerry relocated to Seattle, Washington working in pediatrics; gaining experience in early intervention, sensory integration, aquatics, hippotherapy, social skills training, and feeding therapy. She has attended a variety of pediatric continuing education courses in the areas of Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), oral motor feeding, Handwriting Without Tears, Lite Gait, compression bracing, hippotherapy, and developmental coordination disorder. Kerry, her husband and young son live out in the country and love horseback riding.

Brittany Benson is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who graduatedfrom the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Nashville StateCommunity College in 2007 with a degree in Applied Science. Brittany′sspecial interest areas are in feeding therapy and sensory integration. Brittany and her husband live in Nashville and are expecting theirfirst child in April. They also have a cat named Sammy. Brittany lovesstaying busy, gardening with her husband, and traveling.
